SQRMenu for 4.11

What is it?

SQRMenu is an enhanced interface between Maximo® and your prompt driven SQR reports. It is designed to resolve common user complaints with Maximo®’s built-in SQR interface without changing the way users run reports.

SQRM will increase SQR report efficiencies by eliminating reports that are run with incorrectly entered prompt values. This is achieved by only allowing the user to pick Valid entries prior to running a report.

Common User Complaints Resolved by SQRMenu

“Why does Maximo® only have 4 prompts?”
“Why do I have to format dates?”
“Why can’t I pick values from a list?”

SQRM Features!

  • No modifications of your existing reports required
  • Up to 10 prompts available for each SQR report
  • Date prompts use a familiar calendar window for “point & click” date selection
  • All Date prompts can have a uniquely defined date format.
  • Value Lists validate data using SQL statements
  • Value Lists can also be created with static data
  • All Value Lists can contain a Value and Description
  • Default values can be defined on FreeForm fields

Report Registration

Registering an SQR report to use the SQRMenu interface remains the same as registering any report in Maximo®. The SQRM application is setup as another report writer in Maximo®’s Reports application and the registration steps are the same as existing SQRW or CRW reports.

Administration

The SQRM Administration window can be accessed by any Maximo® users who have been granted security privileges to administer reports. From this screen the administrator can define up to 10 prompts for each report, set-up the Input Range and review SQRM Help documentation.

4 Prompt types are available:

  • Date
User selects value from Calendar window
    Administrator defines date format
  • FreeForm
Manual entry of value, same as current Maximo®.
Administrator can define a default value
  • SQL Query
    User selects value from valuelist
Administrator enters SQL statement to build list of Values and Descriptions
  • Value List
    User selects value from valuelist
Administrator manually enters list of Values and Descriptions, or via the built in list editor.
